THE MAIN MAN MR. NARS
The stars were our on the red carpet Tuesday Night in LA for the CFDA Fashion Awards Gala. This is fashions night of nights, when the Council of Fashion Designers of America recognize outstanding contributions made to American fashion by individuals from all areas of the industry and related arts. What this translates to for us is lots of stunning dresses, gorgeous makeup and fab hair to ogle.
In addition to all the fashion and beauty eye candy, we were also thrilled to discover Nars founder François Nars was there on the night, escorting his close friend Isabella Rossellini to the Gala, who was presenting the Fashion Icon award to supermodel Iman. The pair recently worked together on NARS’ 15X15 Project and book, in which Rossellini was featured. NARS International Makeup Artist James Boehmer created Isabella’s makeup for the evening, premiering Nars’ latest creation – Pure Matte Lipstick (coming soon to Nars). She looked the epitome of elegance and grace.
“Rather than going with a nude sheer, we went with a modern, matte lip, similar to Isabella’s natural lip tone,” says James. “This balanced the look and gave more overall color – making the eyes appear less intense.”
